About Arthur

Arthur, who takes his Latin name from the word for 'frog', thrives in cool, moist conditions so will be perfect for just about any London space! His warm yellow and orange rose-clustered flowers will set any urban garden alight with colour and excitement

Arthur blooms between March and May and won't grow much beyond his current height of 15cm. He also makes a beautiful addition to the home when freshly cut - just make sure you cut the stem when flowers have fully formed but are not yet open. Arthur is a perennial so after his blooming period he will become dormant before coming back into bloom next spring. His typically life span is between 2-5 years.

Height: 10-15cm. Pot size: 10.5cm

Arthur prefers a sunny position although he won't mind some partial shade too.

Arthur isn't a fan of the wind so is best planted in a sheltered spot or corner.

Looking after this plant

To keep Arthur looking his best, it's a good idea to remove his spent flowers by picking them off just underneath the flower. After he has finished flowering, don't be tempted to cut back his foliage as this will help nourish him during the dormant period. Cut back his leaves once the leaves have yellowed and shrivelled.

We recommend planting one Arthur every 20cm (i.e. three would fit neatly in a 60cm long trough). If he's to be planted in one of our troughs, he'll need one of these 20L bags of multi-purpose compost.
