Snip stems off the herbs whenever you want them for cooking. Give Vivi a yearly trim to keep her neat.
Phoebe, oregano and thyme all do very well in fairly dry soil. Vivi likes regular water to make juicy lemons.
A sunny spot
These plants are best suited to space that gets quite a lot of sun. Full sun isn’t essential, but it’s preferred.
Because Vivi the lemon tree is a real sun-lover, she doesn’t like to be out in freezing conditions. Bring her inside when winter arrives.

About this set
This collection of plants covers all the best things about being outside in summer. It brings together exotic looks, pretty flowers, gorgeous fragrance and things you can eat. They’ll make your patio or balcony a lovely place to be. Just add friends and drinks.
Phoebe the Canary Island date palm creates a bit of exotic drama, with her long, arching leaves that waft in the breeze. Vivi the lemon tree will be covered in little white flowers in summer, which then give way to bright fruit, which is ready to pick as soon as it turns yellow. Add thyme and oregano, which smell incredible and can be used in Mediterranean cooking, and you’ve got a collection that treats all the senses.
