Like most ferns, he’s happy in shady spots. The only level of light he won’t enjoy is bright sun.
He enjoys quite moist soil, but not soggy. Check weekly and give him a drink when the top two inches of soil are dry.
He loves a steamy atmosphere. He’ll be happy in a bathroom, or you can mist him daily.
This guy is tough. He’ll cope better than most plants in quite cold rooms. Mature plants can even survive outside.

About Coniogramme intenz
Popularly known as bamboo fern, coniogramme intenz isn’t actually any relation to the bamboo, but they do have similar leaves. It’s a beautiful little plant, with brightly patterned foliage, good for cheering up shady corners.
It’s native to Africa and East Asia, where you’ll find it in very humid forests, growing anywhere especially damp. Like all ferns, it really loves moist conditions and a spot hidden away from bright light. It’s super easy to look after as long as you keep its soil lightly moist and give it a good mist a couple of times a week. Even better, put it in the bathroom. It will also thank you kindly for a feed with liquid fertiliser once per month in spring and summer.
