About Cecilia

She may look blue, but Cecilia's a happy little plant who's bound to add some cheeriness to your garden. You can find her basking in the sun all over California, where she's the preferred snack of the local deer population. She's also loved by Indigenous Americans, who use her dried leaves as a soothing herbal tea. It's no wonder she's such a popular lady: her glossy, dark green leaves and pretty clusters of light blue flowers make her the belle of the ball.

Cecelia comes as a shrub or a tree - both equally lovely and easy to care for. For a windier garden we recommend the shrub!

How to Care for Cecilia (Creeping Blue Blossom)

The basics:

The girl loves the sun - she does best in a spot with lots of light, but won't mind some dappled shade, either.

Pop in some well-drained soil and ensure it always stays a bit moist - if there's a long period without rain, give her a shower if her soil is dry.

Going the extra mile:

Give her a prune immediately after flowering (usually in June) so that she looks her best, cutting away old-looking shoots and dead flowers with a pair of sanitised scissors/shears.
