Plants for the Corridor
Fill a space, even the tightest spot, with a plant. Our selection of compact indoor house plants and small succulents can squeeze in anywhere – a corridor, staircase, landing, or any empty corner that needs some love.
Need some indoor plant pots and plant stands for your new pals? We’ve got those, too.
You'll be amazed at how plants can transform these more practical spaces. The devil is in the detail: smaller plants such as succulents and tiny ferns can really perk up a compact area, and are great for bringing life to shelves and sideboards. If you have more space to play with, a tall, sculptural plant is an excellent way to fill a gap. Dracaenas are great large hallway plants, as they’re tall but narrow, adding architectural style without taking up too much floor space. Larger leafy options such as palms, Shield plants or Strelitzia nicolais are tall corridor plants that bring big beautiful foliage to wider spaces, ideal for spacious landings or entryways.

Corridor plants for low light
Cassie, our ZZ plant, is as tough as they come. She’s not fussy and can store water for a long time, meaning she won’t mind if you forget to give her a drink every now and then. If you like a plant that’s sculptural and easygoing, Cassie’s your girl for the perfect table topper or corner filler.
Anna, the Chinese evergreen, comes from South-East Asia, where you'll find her modestly basking in the dappled light under large tropical trees, which makes her the perfect plant for a low lit corridor. In China, Anna is considered a lucky plant! We can't promise she will bring you great fortune, but it's worth a try.
Susie the snake plant is a dream to look after. In the wild she can go a long time without seeing rain, so she doesn't need frequent watering. She comes in a range of sizes to fit any space.
The smallest one will pop neatly on a shelf, or the huge size will look incredible in an entrance hall.
Corridor plants for direct sunlight
One of our favourites at Patch, Nicolau, the strelitzia, is the perfect statement piece. In the wild, he grows on hot, coastal parts of Africa and Mexico, so will love to bask in full sun in your corridor.
Rick, one of our corn plants(or Dracaena fragrans), is an impressive indoor plant who thrives on minimal attention. With just a bit of care, he’ll grow tall and strong — and can even sprout small, white flowers if you’re very lucky. Perfect to brighten up a dark corner.
We don’t believe in plants being fashionable - they’re all classics - but the fiddle-leaf fig is definitely having ‘a moment’. Fidel the fiddle-leaf fig will give your space that tropical look with his lyre-shaped leaves. But don’t be fooled by his pretty face: Fidel is a tough guy who can cope with less-than-perfect conditions.
