Why are plants important in an office?
Plants make people happier, healthier and more productive.
Nothing in the world has a greater impact on a space than plants. Because not only can they improve how a space looks – they can significantly improve how it feels.
Just 5 medium-sized plants for every 20m² will clean the air in that space by 75% by absorbing airborne pollutants.
And, by fostering relaxation and concentration, studies have shown that the same number of plants will result in a 60% improvement on one’s mental wellbeing.
Patch was brilliant at helping us find the perfect plants for our stores.

Our top tips for office greening
1. Light
Start with the natural light. Switch off the lights during the day (if possible) to get a measure for how the sunlight fills the room, as indoor plants can't feed off light bulbs. All plants need some natural sunlight to survive, but each one likes different levels of light depending on their natural habitat - so check out the product page description for each plant before you checkout.
2. Picking the plants
Mix up plants by height, volume and texture but bear in mind that the fewer varieties you choose, the easier it will be to look after them because they will need the same level of maintenance. For a fool-proof range then check out our Best Office Plants section above.
3. Styling your plants
Look for surfaces that are a bit bare and could be livened up. Frame doorways by placing tall plants either side of them and remember to use the space above your head if floor space is at a premium. We have a range of hanging planters and trailing plants that look great on bookshelves or cabinets.
4. Temperature
We like to save the best 'till last. Do everything in your power to keep your plants away from those lurking air conditioning units, radiators and nasty winter drafts - as dramatic temperature changes tend to upset them.
