• About Alocasia ‘Tiny Dancer’

  Compact is one word for this unusual little Alocasia; we prefer petite. Bred to remain small but mighty, Alocasia ‘Tiny Dancer’ is perfect for small spaces and would be quite content in a terrarium.  Group it together with your other humidity-loving houseplants and see how its slender stems topped by pointed arrow-head shaped leaves throw their shapes. 

  The subtropical climates Alocasia are native to give us a good idea how to make them comfortable as houseplants: lightly moist soil (ideally filtered or rain water), warm temps, high humidity, bright filtered light, and nice rich free-draining potting soil. A regular dose of plant food throughout the growing season and repotting every couple of years should keep Elton living his best life. 

  Did you know?

  Alocasia are in the same family as Anthuriums like Felicity and Fleur, but they seldom flower as houseplants. If they did, you’d see that they have the same unusual Araceace flower made up of a spathe and spadix.
