• About Fiddle-leaf figs

  There’s no beating the wonder of a statement plant, and Fidel certainly delivers on wow-factor. With his big, fiddle-shaped leaves and tall stature, he’s a great option for open-plan offices or empty corners that could do with a little life.

  Fidel will like living in a spot with a nice medium level of light, so not shady but not harsh direct sun – think a bright room, away from the window. Those big leaves like humidity, so add a layer of LECA balls to the soil’s surface to help lock in moisture, or group him with other plants to create a mini microclimate.

  As for watering? He’s a dab hand. Just check his soil once a week and water if the top two inches of his soil are dry. He will also appreciate a feed with liquid fertiliser once per month in spring and summer.
