No prizes for guessing why this playful plant is called a Fishbone cactus. Her wiggly stems also give her the nicknames Zig Zag cactus and Rik Rak cactus, though we know her as Kate.
In the wild, you’ll find her in Mexico dangling from the branches of trees, where she grows quickly in the hot, humid climate. This gives you a good idea of the sort of conditions she’ll enjoy in your home – bright light (though not direct sunshine) and light watering will keep her happy. If you treat her very well, she may even flower, though you’ll need to be ready – she blooms after dark and the flowers only live for one night. She’s rather dramatic.
We’ve paired Kate’s wiggly stems with our bestselling Bubble pot, which has wavy edges and a smooth glossy finish.
When watering your plants, always remove them from the decorative pot first and allow any excess water to drain completely before putting the plant back in the pot. Due to the nature of the material, excess water may escape.
