She likes her soil slightly moist, but not soggy. She’ll need less frequent watering in winter.
She is happiest in bright filtered light. A spot in a sunny room is best.
Unlike most cacti, she really loved a moist atmosphere. Give her a good misting every couple of days.

The Christmas cactus, scientifically known as schlumbergera, earned its name because it flowers right around the festive season. It’s also known as Thanksgiving cactus and holiday cactus, for the same reason. Basically, this plant loves a celebration, erupting in pink flowers to cheer up winter.
Unlike a lot of cacti, this plant doesn’t naturally live in hot, dry conditions. In the wild you’ll find it growing in the filtered light of humid forests in the crevices of rocks and trees. Try to imitate these conditions in your home to keep it healthy and happy.
Let it dry out in between watering and then give it a thorough soak, making sure any excess water drains away. Although it can tolerate a break between watering, be careful not to leave it so long that the leaves get wilted and crinkly. Give it a regular feed throughout the the growing season (roughly April to September) when the light is brightest, this will help it build energy to flower. That little bit of extra work in the middle of the year will guarantee that when the light levels and temperature drop, your plant will have a blooming happy Christmas.
