    • Yin likes Light watering

Not a big drinker, it’s best to give Yin a good water, let him drain, and then only water him again when his soil is nearly dry.

    • Yin likes Bright light

While bright indirect light will make Yin’s leaf colour bolder, he can tolerate medium light without too much fuss. Too little light and he will get long and leggy stems.

    • Yin likes Feeding

Give him a feed with half-strength fertiliser once a month throughout spring and summer.

  • Ooooh she’s petite, and she’s pretty. This Radiator plant is loved for its pastel variegation, oval leaves, its slow growing nature, compact size and low-maintenance personality. While it’s often called the ‘Baby Rubber plant’, don’t confuse the two. This is simply a reference to the similar green-cream-pink colour variegation between this cultivar and Rob

There are around 1,000 species of Peperomia, all varying in shape, size and texture. They’re related to the pepper plant, which is how this species got its name – Peperomia comes from the Greek ‘peperi’, meaning 'pepper', and 'homoios', which means 'resembling'. In the wild, you’ll find them growing in tropical countries where they enjoy humid conditions and warm temperatures.

Try and replicate these conditions at home – just as well we like to be warm too – by keeping your Peperomia in a toasty spot, whether this be on a windowsill, in a bright bathroom, or on your desktop.  Where possible, avoid hot or cold draughts and encourage humidity. If you really want to have fun with displaying Yin, why not consider creating a terrarium?

While this Peperomia is slow growing, if you find that the stems of your plant are getting a bit too long for your liking and you want it to branch out instead, then simply snip them back by a couple of nodes.

    Did you know?

In places like Peru, Peperomia are considered herbs and are used in traditional medicines.
