    She’ll be ok in light shade, but does better in brighter light. Constant direct sun may be too much, but a bit is fine.

• About Hoya hearts

  You wouldn’t recognise Val in her native habitat. She’s actually a climbing plant, with lots of heart-shaped leaves that grow up to four metres tall in countries in South-East Asia. It blooms with small red and pink waxy flowers, and is extremely slow growing.

  In the UK, we rarely see it as a full climber plant, and instead its cute, heart-shaped leaves are found potted individually, like they are here. Val’s heart-shape and minimal care needs make her an excellent choice for Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day gifts.

  This set includes our Dipped tumbler pot. The perfect pairing to Val’s sweetheart shape, it’s finished in a glossy pink glaze. When watering your plants, always remove them from the decorative pot first and allow any excess water to drain completely before putting the plant back in the pot.
