  • The Blue spruce is the classic, and very classy, Christmas tree. It’s loved for its full shape and those soft blue-ish needles, which give it its name. It also has an unmistakable scent, a smell that instantly means Christmas. This Luxe edition comes ready to get the Christmas party started, with a set of 16 colourful baubles, battery-operated fairy lights and a silver star to top it off. Pop him pride of place in your home, or send him as a gift to help someone else get into the festive spirit.

Bruce comes wrapped in a hessian sack, but it’s best to put him in a decorative pot – pick your favourite from our wide selection of indoor pots. You can also put him in a plant stand, to lift him off the ground (and make more room for presents).

The Blue spruce originally comes from North America. It’s also known as the Colorado spruce, because it’s so widely found in that state. It’s a tough old tree that can tolerate incredibly cold winters. It can grow as large as 23 metres in the wild, given enough time. You’d definitely have trouble getting one of those through your door!

Keep it outside until two weeks before Christmas then bring it in, gradually exposing it to the warmer conditions of your home. Moving it from the cold outside to the warmth inside too quickly could cause some needles to drop as it goes into shock.

Because it’s a pot-grown tree, don’t throw yours away after Christmas. It will live very happily outside, growing a bit bigger each year and providing you with a larger tree every Christmas. Fortunately, it will stay quite a bit smaller than 23 metres.
