About Marie

Known as Japanese Snowball, Marie is a beautiful plant for late Spring, thanks to her delicate white flowers amid a mass of buds.

Marie arrives standing 80-100cm tall, in a 10-litre pot. She flowers beautiful in Spring and then her leaves grow purple over Autumn. She'll grow by about 10-20cm per year. She's deciduous, so she'll lose her leaves over winter (don't panic – she's not dead!).

Marie is happy on pretty much any site, as long as she sees the sun for at least a small portion of the day. She won't mind taking a battering from the wind either. She enjoys most soils.

Not much! She's helpfully unfussy.

Looking after this plant

Feel free to cut her right back in late Autumn, after her leaves have fallen, to keep her growth contained and her flowering vibrant the following year.

Living with pets and children

Marie's fruit, produced in Autumn, will cause a stomach upset if eaten.
