She likes moist soil, so check her weekly and water if the top two inches of soil feel dry. Water less in winter.
A bright room is her ideal home, but try to keep her out of direct sun. It’s a bit much for her.
She likes a lot of moisture in the air. She’ll love living in a bathroom or you can misther leaves every few days.
If her leaves get dusty, give them a gentle clean with a soft cloth. Clean leaves absorb sunlight better.

About Alocasia cuprea
Alocasia red secret’s ‘secret’ is pretty clear to anyone: its leaves are incredible. A rich, shiny, bronzey red, they’ll add real depth to your indoor jungle.
In the wild, this plant, also known as alocasia cortidora, grows across Asia, particularly in Borneo. The shape of its big leaves earned it the nickname ‘elephant’s ear’. Left to its own devices, it can grow much taller than an elephant - as much as 4 metres. As an indoor plant it won’t grow taller than about a metre, and will take a while to reach that.
It enjoys a warm moist atmosphere that reminds it of home. Nice moist (but not soggy) soil, bright light (but not direct sun) and lots of moisture in the air and it will be happy as can be. It will also benefit from a feed once per month in spring and summer.
Did you know?
There are over 79 varieties of alocasia. We have several others, including stripy Zabrina or ruffled Esme. We’re still working on the other 70-something.
