About Esmé

The Alocasia Gageana, also known as Elephant ears is the perfect pick if you want to bring a beauty beautiful bright green touch to your space. Her large leaves can transform any room into a real tropical urban jungle.

Estimated height from the bottom of the pot to the top of the plant: 90-100cm; Nursery pot width: 21cm

The big and exuberant leaves of Esme needs some space to grow. A 1m diameter site is ideal for her beautiful bright green leaves to spread out.

Esme is very flexible and grows very well in partial shade spots. During Winter, it's best to move her nearer windows to maximise light levels.

Even though Esme is a water-loving plant, she does not appreciate to be overwatered. Wait for the top couple of inches of soil to dry out before watering. As with most tropical plants, she does not like to be exposed to a very cold spot.

Watering and feeding

Feeding her once a month will provide nutrients to grow larger leaves.

Living with pets and children

If ingested, Alocasias can cause upset stomach among dogs and cats so best to keep it out of their reach.
