She needs very very little water. About once a month is fine. Water the soil, not her leaves, to keep her healthy.
She’ll be ok in light shade, but does better in brighter light. Constant direct sun may be too much, but a bit is fine.
Don’t be fooled by the fleshy succulent leaves of this plant, hoya is a tropical plant that likes high humidity. A kitchen or bathroom with plenty of light and moist air would be ideal.

If you saw this plant in the wild you probably wouldn’t recognise it. It’s actually a climbing plant, with lots of those heart-shaped leaves strung along its vines. It’s commonly found in countries in South-East Asia, where it can grow up to four metres tall.
Don’t be fooled by the fleshy succulent leaves of this plant. Unlike cacti or succulents that are used to surviving in hot dry climates, Hoya is a tropical plant that likes heat, yes, but also high humidity. Normal household humidity should be fine, but if you can put your little plants in the most humid room you have, even better. Best not to mist them as this may cause scorch on the surface of their leaves when the light hits the water. A liquid feed once a month over spring and summer will help your hoya put on strong new growth.
In the wild, it blooms with small red and pink waxy flowers. It’s an extremely slow-growing plant and the full climber is very rarely sold in the UK. Instead, its cute, heart-shaped leaves are potted and sold individually. In the case of Vic, they’re sold as a perfect love heart pair.
