About euonymous japonica

Part of the prolific spindle family, Euonymous Japonica is tough and can withstand even the harshest winters. Like most Euonymous, they are a shape-shifter: lush green leaves that have yellow-edges start out round, then get a bit square as they grow, before turning round again. We love that he's always keeping us on our toes.
Native to China, Japan, and Korea, the wood is extremely durable and has long been used for a variety of purposes, including as artists' charcoal, knitting needles, and musical instruments. This amazing plant may also bloom small, greenish-flowers in spring, and then little orange fruit in autumn - don't eat them, though, as they can be toxic.
