Angel wings, scientifically known as senecio candidans, gets its name from the look of its soft, silvery leaves. That pale colour is largely down to the fact the leaves are covered in tiny, fine hairs that reflect the light and feel very soft to the touch. It’s like stroking puppy ears.
Originally from India, angel wings has become popular around the world for its unusual look. It will add texture to a display of potted plants or in a flower bed, and it makes flowers really pop.
It’s a pretty compact plant, growing to a maximum height and width of about 50cm. It likes its soil only lightly moist and is quite tolerant of drought. It’s a plant guaranteed to attract attention.
