About Amir

Robin's more branch-y brother, Amir is an easy-to-care for indoor tree who definitely has that 'wow' factor. Originally from Southeast Asia, this ancient plant produces a milky white latex that was once used to make rubber - hence the nickname 'Rubber Tree'. We love him for his one-of-a-kind shape, deep green foliage, and amazing air-purifying powers - NASA even selected him as one of their top toxin-smashing plants.

How to Care for Amir (Rubber Tree)

Amir will appreciate a brightly-lit room, but don't stick him directly in the line of fire - he'll get scorched if he gets too much unfiltered sunlight. Placing him out of the way of a south- or west-facing window is ideal.

Give Amir a good drink every 10 days or so during the warm months, and every two-ish weeks during winter, allowing the top few inches of his soil to dry out between waterings. Always check the soil before watering. It's good to know that Amir might shed some of his leaves during the dormant season, which happens to reserve his energy for the spring!
